For my zine I went with making one about an East Asian belief. This belief is mostly common in China; the belief goes that everyone is destined with someone else. There is an invisible red thread around a finger of each person that connects the two; no matter if it gets tangled the thread will never break. My inspiration came from a Korean drama I had watched years ago, I really loved the message it portrayed. Since then, it’s something that has always stuck with me. Even if you don’t believe in it, the message it still beautiful and cute. In the zine, originally, I wanted to hand draw everything, every country photo but then decided it would be time consuming. Originally, I also was going to make it a flipbook but then got the wonderful idea to make it one whole thing like an accordion and to also put a thread and that’s what I did which made it complete.
